How
do I get our free upgrade to version 5 of PipeFitPro?
If
you have purchased PipeFitPro Combo between December 2008 and March
10 2009, and have not received your free upgrade, please reply to
your registration email and our support desk will send out a new
registration.
How
can I unload previous versions of PipeFitPro from my AutoCAD?
Open
AutoCAD and type the command 'CUI' to unload the partial menu. Click
on the 'Partial CUI Files' to expand the group and carefully select
the Partial Menu you wish to remove by right clicking and selecting
'Unload CUI File' (see below)
Exit
AutoCAD immediately to ensure changes are saved.

NOTE
This procedure can be used to unload previous versions of AutoList,
QuickText, Mypartz and PerfectPlot.
If
you are using and older version of AutoCAD and don't have the 'CUI'
command, use the 'Menuload' command to carefully
unload a partial menu and then exit AutoCAD. (Consult an experienced
AutoCAD user if you re unsure of how to do this to to avoid accidentally
unloading the main AutoCAD menu).
There
is no top view of a 45 deg. Elbow in PipeFitPro V5... I was just
wandering why you took it out of version 5 but had it in version
4.
We
have replaced the command with more options in the 'Half Pipe Section'
command. Now you can draw ellipses at 60, 45, 35, & 25 degrees.

Does
PipeFitPro V5 work on Non-English versions of AutoCAD?
Currently,
PipeFitPro V5 can be installed on non-English versions of AutoCAD
and Windows. Click for more FAQ's However, PipeFitPro has not been
localized for non-English languages.
Can
I install PipeFitPro V5 with PipeFitPro V4?
Yes.
We have made the new version completely separate so you can test
the new features without changing your AutoCAD set-up.
Does
PipeFitPro V5 work with Navis Works?
Yes.
Anything you draw using PipeFitPro V5 and AutoCAD, can be opened
with Navis Works.
Does
your software allow for standard dwg files to be made and can these
files be viewed by a client using AutoCAD®?
Yes.
All our products only make standard AutoCAD® files and standard
AutoCAD® objects. We have always embraced the idea that all
our software is fully compatible with standard AutoCAD®, all
the way from version 2000, and now up to version 2010.
What
AutoCAD® versions are compatible?
AutoCAD®
Versions supported are 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 2007,
2008, 2009 & 2010.
What
AutoCAD® LT versions are compatible?
LT
Pipe works in AutoCAD LT 2007 and AutoCAD LT 2008
only.
PipeFitPro
V5 in supported in AutoCAD LT 2007, 2008 & 2009 in conjunction
with ToolKit Max by CAD software company drcauto, www.drcauto.com.
Refer to the User Help and documentation when installing PipeFitPro
V5 to your PC for install instructions or click here
for online instructions.
What
Windows versions are supported?
WinNT4,
Win2K, WinXP, WinVista.
We
use Procad suite loaded locally as well, are there any known conflicts
between these software and your 3D package?
No.
We have used Procad, and there were no issues with our software.
All our software is designed to ensure other 3rd party software
does not interfere with the operation. From our customer feedback,
we see customers using various products together with our programs
as we offer unique productivity commands other programs do not have.
We do recommend you test all our software before large scale implementation.
Can
I use MechQ and PipeFitPro on my AutoCAD together?
Yes.
Once again all our software is designed to ensure other 3rd party
software does not interfere with the operation. We have heard from
several customers who originally purchased MechQ and now use both
PipeFitPro and MechQ on the one AutoCAD® installation.
I've
downloaded PipeFitPro and tried it. Why are all the fittings and
pipes drawn extremely large?
1.
Try checking the 'Draw Units' setting in PipeFitPro
Options. There is a choice if either metric (mm) or imperial (inch)
draw units.
2.
Try the units command in AutoCAD (Format > Units...).
Set the insertion scale to unitless, inches or millimeters.
Can
PipeFitPro Draw any Pipe Size?
Yes.
PipeFitPro can draw pipes in any size, as well as the standard ANSI
sizes.
Can
PipeFitPro draw pipe fittings in block form?
PipeFitPro
does not draw fittings in blocks. However you can incorporate any
existing blocks you have by using the custom blocks command in PipeFitPro.
For
each size you can set a path for where blocks are stored on your
PC using PipeFitPro Options. Then using the PipeFitPro toolbar,
you can quickly insert existing blocks.
Could
you suggest a way to create 2D drawings from the 3D model?
From
AutoCAD® 2007 onwards, there is a new 'flatshot' command in
AutoCAD®. This enables 3D drawings to be 'flattened'. Hidden
views and isometric views can be made proper as 2D drawings with
lines and circles/arcs.
Are
there any instructions or tutorials for PipeFitPro?
The
PipeFitPro Help and User Documentation contains program and command
information which can be viewed by picking the Help button in PipeFitPro
(when installed in AutoCAD®). Visit www.youtube.com/pipefitpro
for
on-line demonstrations.
When
was PipeFitPro first made?
PipeFitPro
was first developed in the year 2000, and first sold in 2003. Ever
since the first version, we have carefully developed and refined
the program to ensure it works reliably and accurately in all versions
of AutoCAD, including non-English AutoCAD.
How
does your software perform on Networked AutoCAD®?
We
have not seen any issues with Local Area Networks with any programs
we sell.
I
purchased S9® software some time ago and have just moved to
a new computer and I was unable to import my old E-mail with my
username and license code. Could you please forward them to me again
so I can continue to use my product?
Yes.
Email us your name and company details, so we can provide you with
your original License registration.
I
am looking for valves for this application and do not see them available?
PipeFitPro
does not come with valves, however the 2D & 3D PipeFitPro V5
flange commands allows you to input and save valve face-to-face
dimensions for each pipe size, and it will draw a polyline or 3D
solid cross to represent the valve dimensions.
NOTE We always recommend drawing valves to manufacturers
specifications, as it's become very hard for developers like us
to keep up with new products and the many standards used for different
industries.
From our experience there are no products that I could recommend,
and we see the more costly programs usually require extensive customization
to do valves.
The PipeFitPro V5 Insert Blocks command allows you to create and
insert blocks from your computer network - which is ideal for valves.
Does
PipeFitPro draw equipment blocks?
PipeFitPro
does not provide any mechanical equipment blocks as yet. So far
we have concentrated on developing piping tools, fittings and flanges,
along with software utilities to streamline design.
In
general, software companies like ourselves, recommend users draw
equipment specifically to manufacturers data sheets, and with sufficient
detail for the application (general arrangements, detail isometrics,
3D walk throughs etc).
PipeFitPro
can be configured to access standard block libraries you may have,
or you can customize the 'User Parts' command for quick block insertion.
Do
you only sell the PipeFitPro product and does this mean AutoList
or QuickText are no longer sold as separate programs?
Yes,
we have basically put all our software into one application and
called it PipeFitPro V5! This means you can't buy AutoList or QuickText
on their own. One advantage of this is the reduction of administration
for ourselves and our customers.
Also,
the new PipeFitPro actually has many productivity tools that can
help AutoCAD users in just about any industry, and we have all new
tools coming which can be deployed easily.
