How
Can I make a second line of text in a Parts List?
Use
two spaces. For all the table fields, except the item number/letter
simply type two spaces and a double line will appear for that
line. NOTE If you have the 'Always Use Double Line' option ticked,
double line parts lists will be generated all the time.
Can
I change the text style used by AutoList?
Yes,
using the 'Style' command in AutoCAD®, you can edit the
Autolist2000 style (this is made automatically in a drawing
when using AutoList) and specify a desired font.
Can
I increase the size of a Parts List?
Yes,
simply scale the head of a parts list and the rest of the parts
list will scale to the same size next time you regenerate the
parts list.
Can
AutoList count like items for the quantity?
No.
That's your job! We could make this work, however that would
make your job too easy - but serious, we've found that quantity
can be defined in more than one way for example the quantity
of steel can be in unit lengths. This causes complications in
producing a reliable quantity list.
Can
AutoList Parts Lists be exploded and used as normal Text and
Lines?
Yes.
Use your express tools or bonus tools which has the command
'Explode Attributes to text'. Doing this effectively creates
an easy way to quickly build a parts list which can then be
exploded and manually edited.
When
I edit a Parts List why do the attributes appear in red text?
This
is a warning to not edit the parts list using AutoCAD's attribute
editor. The reason for this is that the next time you regenerate
a parts list, all will be lost. When the parts list is regenerated,
the parts list is actually deleted, you should always edit the
item tags. However using the AutoList Tag editor, you can select
a parts list item and AutoList will search your drawing and
edit the item tag.
Does
AutoList make drawings that can be viewed by our clients in
AutoCAD®?
Yes.
All our products only make standard AutoCAD® files and standard
AutoCAD® objects - no AEC objects. We have always embraced
the idea that all our software is fully compatible with standard
AutoCAD®, all the way from version 13, and now up to version
2009. We think that keeping designs compatible and usable for
the future is very important, and that is why we invest our
time and money developing software to work with the leading
CAD format, AutoCAD®.
